Hello, {{subst:PAGENAME}}, and welcome to the Test Wikipedia! I hope you will be happy helping here. You should begin by reading these pages: Wikipedia:Useful and Help:Contents. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read the list of wanted pages.

Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, please be bold and try! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later.

If you want to ask a question or talk with other members, you can visit Wikipedia:Village pump. Administrators on Wikipedia can also help you with more difficult problems. Artix Kreiger

edit

I am quite shock to notice that Artix Kreiger is a sock (马甲) of User:Winterysteppe. @Pkbwcgs: Actually you had already knew this on English Wikipedia right? SA 13 Bro (talk) 20:27, 18 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

@SA 13 Bro: I was shocked too at first to see this had happened. It was absolutely unexpected for an experienced user to be caught socking. Pkbwcgs (talk) 20:34, 18 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
The one that surprised me the most was that last year one of the most popular Wikimedia Commons admins was caught socking. Sometimes, even admins get caught for socking. See this. Pkbwcgs (talk) 20:41, 18 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
I just known this when I patrolling the recent changes on Meta-Wiki and I saw got one global steward Sjoerddebruin has removed his admin right at here, after that I went to test 1 site and saw Jasper Deng has also removed his admin right as well, on test Wikidata there also get blocked by Rschen7754, no wonder he nowadays are not very actively on Meta-Wiki. That's why before we having an chats on email to advice him that in future if he attempt to come Singapore for journey purpose please don't use the StarHub network to visit any Wikimedia project sites, or else they will thought we maybe related to each other, because he is the most contacting me than other users on Meta-Wiki and further more we both are the Chinese race, just like User:1989 are the most contacting User:Daphne Lantier on Commons and get suspected as a sock-puppet (马甲) of INC in the past, while CU has determined both are different person. SA 13 Bro (talk) 21:37, 18 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@SA 13 Bro: As a side note, both our accounts have actually been checked on enwiki (if I read it correctly during the Shiwam issue last time). PlyrStar93 (talk) 22:47, 18 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
I have looked on it. @Sro23: Honestly I don't think and feel that PlyrStar93 and Artix Kreiger are the same person, although both are came from China and familiarize about NDC. SA 13 Bro (talk) 23:02, 18 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yeah...I don't think I ever apologized for that. PlyrStar93, I truly believed you were Winterysteppe. I hope you didn't take it too personally. Sro23 (talk) 13:12, 21 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Sro23: Don't worry about it, I'm not going to blame you on that at this point. To be fair, the analysis you made on that SPI probably makes some sense when it's for Artix Kreiger. You have done very well at SPI clerking. PlyrStar93 (talk) 13:25, 21 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
I am shocked also of this. I was thinking he was a different person. CUs evidence confirms that. Now I've blocked the user. His sock Artix Kreiger 2 is already blocked here. --Stïnger (会話) 22:53, 18 April 2018 (UTC).Reply
@Stïnger: His old account Winterysteppe didn't attached here. SA 13 Bro (talk) 23:11, 18 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@SA 13 Bro: but accounts like MechQuester or Artix Kreiger Bot yes. I've not applied block on these account because of the inactivity of both accounts. I will block the accounts if is neccesary. --Stïnger (会話) 23:34, 18 April 2018 (UTC).Reply
For whatever reason Artix Kreiger, or Winterysteppe, has requested their accounts locked, so we probably don't worry about those for the moment. PlyrStar93 (talk) 13:25, 21 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Sysop request

edit

Hi. I would like to have admin tools so that I can import more infoboxes from English Wikipedia and start testing through merging infoboxes and test them. I merged two templates on English Wikipedia so I would like to import my merge sandbox to here and then start testing it on articles which I will also import to here. So, I started merging en:Template:Infobox Muslim leader and en:Template:Infobox religious biography so I will import those two templates here, my merge sandbox and a few articles which use en:Template:Infobox Muslim leader and en:Template:Infobox religious biography and properly test it on those articles so that I can see if my merge is correct and make those correct changes on the templates on English Wikipedia. Thanks. Pkbwcgs (talk) 09:13, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Also, once I am done, I will clean up my tests. Pkbwcgs (talk) 09:15, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Pkbwcgs: This has to be done by a bureaucrat and I am not one in this project. Thanks. PlyrStar93 (talk) 01:40, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Pinging User:Samuele2002 who is a bureaucrat. Pkbwcgs (talk) 07:47, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
If Samuele2002 sees this, you should read his talk page and his contributions on Metawiki from May 2018. That is, be aware of his attitude then and now. 185.195.16.124 02:09, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

How we will see unregistered users

edit

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)
