Menchi
Hello !
Curious feeling to go back on a 1rst wiki. I think my first edits went to this wiki and the english wiki which was in phase II at that time. Then, I headed to the french in phase I. It is amazing to see how quickly we forget :-)
Have a good time
anthere (I remember how bugged I was when I had to drop this so-simple sig)

re: Wikipedia:MediaWiki namespace text - that explains a lot. Like how come I ended up changing the text at the top of the English Wikipedia to say simple English! See the page history of the from Wikipedia message at en. It stayed like it for 20 minutes without anyone noticing! I'll go fix the page to point to Simple instead of en. Thanks for pointing it out. Wow, great work on the MediaWiki namespace! The only one I'm not sure about is switching Current events for news. We might want an article on news. By the way, can you watch the main page. Mwchao tried to turn it into a personal home page! I've warned him that he will be blocked if he does it again. I'd rather do that than protect the page. Angela 02:42, 25 Dec 2003 (UTC)
- Thanks for the foresight on News, I've changed the current events page to World's news. We shouldn't have an overlap there (I'm hoping there's not a popular news programme by that name!). I'll keep an eye on the Main Page, but I think Mwchao has stopped after your warning. --Menchi 04:37, 25 Dec 2003 (UTC)
- I think World's news is a great solution. :) Angela
Please see Wikipedia talk:Bans and blocks. Angela 15:18, 31 Dec 2003 (UTC)
- Commented. --Menchi 20:31, 31 Dec 2003 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'll leave it a week to see if there are any objections and then ask someone to implement it. Angela 00:30, 1 Jan 2004 (UTC)
Hello Menchi. I've nominated you for adminship at Wikisource. Please reply there to say if you accept or not. Thanks for all your work over there. :) Angela 02:36, 17 Jan 2004 (UTC)
- "My work over there" is shamefully miniscule and unworthy of 'thanks'! I have accepted there. --Menchi (Talk). 08:16, 18 Jan 2004 (UTC)
Hi Menchi, Cprompt and Optim are now sysops too. Just thought you should know. Hope you don't object to Optim being made one without applying here first. I told Tim that if you objected later then you could veto the decision which was made on IRC and Optim could be desysopped, but I don't expect you will. :) I've made some changes to the Bans and blocks policy to state sysops must have a real email address if they block people. Let me know if you disagree with the change. Thanks. Angela 08:12, 20 Jan 2004 (UTC)
Revert
editPlease use &bot=1 for reverting mass vandalism. See the help page on en. I think it's at en:wikipedia:revert. If not, ask Tim Starling. I'll add some stuff to the help pages here on it when I'm back. I think there's something at Meta too. Under m:vandal bot maybe? Sorry, no time to check. Angela 07:13, 11 Feb 2004 (UTC)
- Ah, I meant m:vandalbot. I guess you found it by now anyway. :) Thanks for looking after the place and doing all those reverts. Angela 18:34, 16 Feb 2004 (UTC)
Vandalizing!
editI'm just reporting a jerk named Gracker who has been ruining my articles. Wolfj 21:24, 14 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Comment requested
editHi Menchi! I don't know how much you are still on Simple English Wikipedia, but I would like your comment on Wikipedia talk:Simple English Wikipedia#Policy issue because you are an administrator and the discussion is directly related to how Simple English Wikipedia is or should be run. It is also related to Wikipedia talk:What Wikipedia is not, where I wouldn't mind knowing your opinion as well. Thanks! --Cromwellt|talk 20:55, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
Administrator setting
editIn the interests of keeping out admin list somewhat accurate and active, we've asked for your rights on Simple to be backed off. This is not a reflection on you, or your prior work here, which we all appreciate. If you decide to rejoin the project in the future, please feel free to ask for your admin priviliges back. Hope to see you back soon. -- Netoholic @ 18:06, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
