The Medway SLA100 Executive, also called the Medway SLA 100 Executive, is the British ultralight aircraft designed and produced by Medway Microlights, of Rochester, Kent. The aircraft is supplied as the kit for amateur construction or as the complete ready-to-fly-aircraft.[1]
Design and development edit
The aircraft was designed to comply with the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale microlight rules. It features the strut-braced high-wing, the two-seats-in-side-by-side configuration enclosed cockpit, fixed tricycle landing gear and the single engine in tractor configuration.[1]
The SLA100 is made from bolted-together aluminium tubing, with its flying surfaces covered in Dacron sailcloth. Its 9.7 metres (31.8 ft) span wing has an area of 13.8 square metres (149 sq ft) and is supported by V-struts with jury struts. Standard engines available are the 80 horsepower (60 kW) Rotax 912UL and the 100 horsepower (75 kW) Rotax 912ULS four-stroke powerplants.[1]
The SA100 has been certified to the UK BCAR Section "S" standard.[1]
